Familia y Amigos!
This
week has been great! We've had a ton of great lessons and had some
really strong spiritual experiences. Lately our zone has made a huge
focus on teaching people about La Deidad, or, the Godhead, because
people don't understand it. Elder Guerra and I have especially been
focusing on this. It's amazing how many people believe that our loving
Heavenly Father, who created us in His image, is a spirit or an energy.
Or that Jesus Christ, the One that atoned for the sins, pains, weakness,
and death of all dwells is a personage and dwells in our hearts. Not
just investigators, but many less active members think this as well. It
is crucial for us to know the physical and spiritual nature of our
loving Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost if we are to
progress in this life to our full potential. Our Heavenly Father has a
body and flesh and bones, as does Jesus Christ our Savior, but the Holy
Ghost does not, He is a personage of spirit that makes it possible for
him to dwell in us and testify of the truthfulness of the gospel
message (DyC 130:4, 22,23 y Mosiah 4:6 and millions of other scriptures
testify of this divine truth.). Please develop a relationship with our
Heavenly Father, knowing who He really is for you. It's my testimony that
He lives and loves each and every one of us, gringos and Peruanos
alike.
Also,
we been teaching this 19 year old girl, Naomi, that's really
interested in the gospel and wants to learn more. She was a reference
given to us by Bishop Balboa. Shes progressing slowly but now as much as
she could because her family is die hard member to the catholic church,
but I have a feeling that she'll be baptized if she continues with the
lessons. Also, Agusto is really improving and we've had some great
lessons and is keeping his promises and all. He'll be ready for baptism
the 14 of February.
One
last thing for today... Tomorrow we have changes! This past change has
flown by and it's been great. I really hope I don't change areas because I
love the ward and the people here in La Habana. I have seen so many
miracles here and made some amazing friends here that have ended up
being some of my best friends. But, if I do get changed it's all good! Well, that's really about it for the week!
Love,
Elder Potter
